Corporate Name Change Announcement

To our valued customers and associates,
Effective October 1, 2008, we plan to change our corporate name from "TOKIMEC INC." to "TOKYO KEIKI INC." This name change was decided at the company's extraordinary board meeting held on March 17, 2008 and will be submitted for and subject to approval at the company's ordinary general meeting of shareholders to be held in late June of this year. In line with this change, the TOKYO KEIKI company name will also be incorporated by the TOKIMEC Group subsidiary companies.
Our company changed its name to its current name on September 1, 1990. During the eighteen years since this change, we have strived to incorporate the TOKIMEC brand through our corporate and promotional activities. In spite of the strong efforts to establish the TOKIMEC brand, the name has not achieved the desired image in our lines of business and operations restricting efforts for recruiting and for development of new markets within the general society. Due to these circumstances, our company conducted a recognition survey and found that the company's former name TOKYO KEIKI still maintains high visibility in Japan and abroad. With regards to brand image, it was also noted that the name accurately reflects our business activities and management philosophy, and we are confident that the well-known TOKYO KEIKI name will provide us an edge in our efforts to secure talented human resources.
Furthermore, the kanji character translation of the TOKYO KEIKI name is thought to be easy to remember and provide a sense of familiarity in the Asian regions. Written in English, we believe that the 'TOKYO' of TOKYO KEIKI directly associates with the 'Made in Japan' label which gives a favorable impression of high quality products. We are confident that this name will serve us well and effectively in our future efforts to fortify and develop our business not only domestically but also on a worldwide scale. In addition it will enable us to better cultivate new markets and expand our existing businesses through the strengthening of our sales and service network in Asia, Europe and North America.
Based on this view as a precision equipment manufacturer dedicated to contributing to society through the development of products and human resources, we are returning to our original roots by restoring the TOKYO KEIKI company name. Within the context of our management philosophy, "dedicated to serving society by developing and providing products with cutting edge technology which integrates human sensorial functions", it is our goal to become a top ranking world-wide manufacturer.
